Beginning on Ascension day 2023 we will have a weekly service of Holy Communion, every Thursday, at the Venerable Bede.

On the fortieth day of the Easter season we celebrate Christ’s ascension. In the Gospels, Jesus commissioned his disciples to continue his work and promised the gift of the Holy Spirit when he was no longer among them in the flesh. The ascension is therefore closely connected with the theme of mission. And anticipated the promised gift of the Holy Spirit.
