New ramp and toilets for the Venerable Bede

The Church of the Venerable Bede is pleased to announce that we have raised the funds necessary to complete our accessibility project. This will create a new ramp down into the churchyard and level access to both the church and the hall. In the hall we will be installing 4 new accessible toilets. We are really excited to make our church and hall fit for purpose for all users. Watch this space for more information about the project as it progresses...

Meanwhile, in order to build our new ramp we need a faculty (a special kind of planning permission granted by Church of England authorities). Notice of this faculty is given and displayed for 28 days from the 12th of June. You can see the notice here, and the schedule of works and the architects designs in the links below.

We are grateful to our funders who have supported our project: Suez Communities Trust, Garfield Weston Foundation, Sir James Knott Trust, Bernard Sunley Foundation, All Churches Trust, The Beatrice Laing Trust
